Technical QA Consultant

Description

As a Technical QA Consultant you will fulfill the Motive QA duties in relation to the deployment of Alcatel Lucent Motive's suite of products for various customers.

We’re seeking candidates with very solid experience in QA of J2EE and web applications in general, with the ability to systematically define and execute on test cases.

You will be expected to participate with a team of other experts throughout the software development lifecycle, specifically executing on the QA activities.

Responsibilities

• Delivers Professional Services to sound technical, business and professional standards while ensuring strong customer satisfaction and success.
• Reviews use case documentation from a QA perspective.
• Writes test cases against the use case documentation.
• Executes test cases as required.
• Recommends ways to improve the QA process, particularly through automation.
• Records issues in JIRA.
• Communicates with the project manager and team on issue status at the SCRUM meetings.
• Communicates with the Customer on issue status in relation to user acceptance testing.
• Helps ensure that Professional Services revenue is realized and that projects are completed on time and on budget.
• Protects and furthers the Company’s excellent service reputation.

Requirements

• 5+ years software QA experience.
• Knowledge and experience with the professional services project lifecycle (scoping, requirements, construction, QA/test)
• Some experience as a software developer strongly preferred
• Familiarity with the following domains:
• J2EE (Java, JSP, Servlets) with one of the following application servers
• Weblogic Application Server
• JBoss Application Server
• Websphere Application Server
• Oracle Database or mysql Database (knowledge of database design and schemas)
• HTML, DHTML with javascript
• Web Services, XML and XSLT
• Networking (knowledge of TCP/IP, SSL, HTTP, Routing, etc)
• MVC frameworks (Struts, Velocity or similar)
• Unix (Solaris or HP-UX)
• Industry knowledge of Telecommunications related consumer products a plus
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Understanding of Call Center operations a plus
• Broadband transport technology a plus
• Strong English written and verbal communications skills
• University degree in CS or EE from a reputable University
• Ability to travel up to 20% internationally

Senior Consultant QA

With very solid technical background in J2EE and web applications in general, with the ability to ensure customer's success beyond coding and into system planning and architecture. You will be expected to consult our customer on the best possible solution to address their business needs and then participate with a team of other experts in the entire lifecycle of the project from design to go-live and beyond in different regions.

Your duties and responsibilities include:

·         Delivers Professional Services to sound technical, business and professional standards while ensuring strong customer satisfaction and success

·         Provides technical design and construction expertise to Customer implementations and deployments

·         Helps ensure that Professional Services revenue is realized and that projects are completed on time and on budget

·         Protects and furthers the Company's excellent service reputation

·         Helps scope projects and write Statements of Work

·         Schedules and delivers code on time with minimal defects

·         Researches and follows up on technical issues related to projects; informs, communicates and trains associates

What we expect:

·         University degree from a reputable University (CS or EE preferred)

·         5+ years software consulting experience (implementing enterprise software solutions for customers) including direct customer contact

·         Knowledge and experience with the professional services project lifecycle (scoping, requirements, construction, QA/ test)

·         Prior experience as a software developer strongly preferred

·         Solid experience in the following domains:

o    J2EE (Java, JSP, Servlets) with one of the following application servers: Weblogic or JBoss Application Server

o    Oracle Database or mysql Database (knowledge of database design and schemas)

o    HTML, DHTML with javascript

o    Web Services, XML and XSLT

o    Networking (knowledge of TCP/IP, SSL, HTTP, Routing, etc)

o    MVC frameworks (Struts, Velocity or similar)

o    Unix (Solaris) and Linux

·         Excellent problem solving skills

·         Industry knowledge of Telecommunications related consumer products a plus

·         Knowledge of Broadband transport technology is a plus

·         Strong written and verbal English communications skills, Arabic a plus
